Have you ever wondered where the women pioneers are? In science, film, music, or other fields that are predominantly male-dominated. Where are the women? Did they not exist? Were they not there? Were they busy in the kitchen? No dear. They were there. They just weren’t visible.
History, journalism, records, always or mostly talk about male pioneers. We have to dig, scour, leave no stone unturned and dive deep into archives to find the history that was written but never published.
We invite you to LALA on September 18 to watch a documentary about women pioneers in music, especially in electronic and experimental music, whom we may have heard of or not known at all, with stories from the early 20th century to the present day. Featuring Laurie Anderson, Pauline Oliveros, Daphne Oram, Clara Rockmore and many others.
