LALA and the Perverts Cine Club, in collaboration with The Dream Palace present a screening of rarely seen psychedelic films from the 50s, 60s and 70s. A significant branch of the period’s avant-garde cinema was strongly influenced by the cultures of hallucinogenic substances, the underground’s new-found interest in the occult and ideas of a cosmic space consciousness. Expanded abstract cinema was seen as opening access to the human subconscious and even as a potential mirroring of the non-linear and warped logic of dreams. The screening which lasts 80 minutes with a short break features seven of the most trippy underground films of the period.
