As part of the two-day festival “Our Strength is Community,” marking the anniversary of the founding of AKOE (Liberation Movement of Homosexuals of Greece) on April 25, 1977, we’re holding an evening of readings and performances in which we choose to engage with our collective archive.

Searching through texts from past struggles, we want to create a living dialogue with the archival material, with the people who walked the same paths as us, with the efforts to open up space for the queer experience.

“Our strength is community” means to us: we have each other, it means we have our ancestors, and together we try to imagine ways and spaces to exist freely.

On Saturday, April 25th at LALA, we’re attempting a dive into the archive and a sharing of the treasures we find there.
