LALA’s new Sunday film service presents screenings of narrative movie oddities to enjoy with popcorn and drinks! Come join us for queer camp weirdo beauties, surrealist avant-garde masterpieces, offbeat dark comedies, anarchic situationist underground film and video. An evening of mutant reverence!

We continue the series with a screening of Michael Kalmen’s super-rare cult feature Elevator Gils in Bondage (1972, 56’), featuring the legendary San Francisco anarchist drag troupe the Cockettes! Inspired by the writings of Karl Marx, the female staff of a seedy San Francisco hotel revolt against the management to protest low wages and squalid working conditions. The screening will be accompanied by Milton Miron’s / the Cockettes’ short Tricia’s Wedding.

Doors open at 8:30pm, screening starts at 9pm. The film will be presented with English subtitles. Entrance is free, there is a donation box for the running of the space.
